Marine work brings two things together that are individually manageable and jointly difficult: constant vibration and a saltwater atmosphere. Chlorides are in the air, not just in the medium, and that changes the grade decision on the outside of the hose as much as the inside.

Specification notes for this sector
- 316L minimum — the salt atmosphere attacks the braid as readily as the bore
- Bronze or Alloy 400 (UNS N04400) braid where saltwater contact is direct
