This is a short notice about a small amount of data. We run no analytics, we set no cookies, and we do not track anyone across the web. What follows is the whole of it.
What we collect, and when
Only what you type into one of our two forms.
The enquiry form: your name, your company, your email address, and optionally your phone number, your city and country, and whatever you tell us about the line you are trying to solve.
The catalogue form: your name, your company and your work email, and optionally your phone number, your country and what you are working on. We ask because we like to know who is reading it; everything in the catalogue is published openly elsewhere on this site.
With either form we also record the IP address the submission came from, and the date and time. We use it only to stop the forms being abused by automated senders.
Nothing else is collected if you simply read the site — no analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels. The two exceptions we do not control are described further down.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, to prepare a specification and a price, and to keep a record of what was agreed if you go on to place an order. That is the only purpose. We do not sell it, rent it or pass it to anyone for marketing, and we will not add you to a mailing list because you asked a technical question.
Where it goes
Each form posts to a script on our own web server. The script does two things: it writes the submission to a file on that server so that it cannot be lost if the mail fails, and it emails the contents to info@essemworks.com, where it is read by our engineers and our sales office. Those files are held in a folder that is closed to the web and readable only by us. Nothing is sent to any third party. If your browser cannot reach the server the enquiry form falls back to opening an email in your own mail programme, in which case nothing reaches us until you press send.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an order are kept for two years and then deleted, and the same two years applies to the catalogue record and to the IP address stored with it. Where an order follows, the records are kept for as long as Indian company and tax law requires us to keep them, and for as long as the assembly might reasonably be in service and a traceability question could arise.
Two things we do not control
- Web fonts. The typeface on this site is served from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google and Google sees your IP address. We are moving the font files onto our own server to remove that. If it matters to you before we do, a font blocker or a privacy browser will stop it and the site will still work.
- Our web host. Like any website, the server keeps ordinary access logs. We do not use them for anything except keeping the site running.
What you can ask us to do
Write to info@essemworks.com and ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it, and we will not ask you why. If you are in India this is your right under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023; if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom it is your right under the GDPR. We treat the request the same way whoever asks.
You can also withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the same address; we will delete what we hold and stop processing it, and it costs you nothing to ask. Data questions and complaints are handled by the person responsible for data protection at Essem Works Private Limited, reachable at info@essemworks.com or on +91 90815 68688, and we aim to answer within thirty days. If you are in India and you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.
Changes
If we change how any of this works we will change this page and update the date below. There is no version history to hunt through; the page always describes what we do now.
